We spent our Fourth of July at Harbor View Marina in
Ludington, Michigan. We did not get much of a chance to boat because Lake
Michigan waters were a little to rough for a trip to Manistee or
Pentwater. The weekend was not a waste as we spent our time Downtown
Ludington and enjoying the amenities of the Marina. On the 4th
we anchored out in the harbor itself to watch the fire works from our
boat.
You will find many amenities like gas grills, a swimming
pool, spa, reading room with a TV-which we used to watch the NASCAR race,
lots of parking, and very helpful dock hands. The Marina was very clean as
they took the time to clean any dead fish from its inner waters.
You will find restaurants and a very large playground for
the children within walking distance from the Marina. Give the Grand Hotel
Restaurant a try; don’t let the look of the outside fool you. Shopping
is only three blocks away in Downtown Ludington. The only draw back is the
7 o’clock wake up call from the Lake Michigan Car ferry horn.
